Facebook Acquire Instagram For $1 billion

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s chief executive and founder said in a post on Monday that it will spend about $1 billion to acquire Instagram, a mobile photo app. Instagram was initially launched only for the iPhone, and recently added an app for Android devices. It is on record that Instagram have been installed by millions of users.

Zuckerberg said that Facebook would keep Instagram independence functionally for other social networks to integrate; this means that user of other social networks are allowed to use the application. In his word, he said, "We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook," .

Zuckerberg said "..the Instagram purchase is a significant milestone..." From the thousands of comments on the post it seems that this actions of facebook is acceptable by generality of those that commented

This may be the first time such acquisition was done by facebook, “It’s the first time we’ve ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don’t plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.”

This action of facebook would make the sharing of photo better.
