Econometrics: Where Does Nigerians Stand?

The economy of Nigeria is not so complex as many may infers rather it seem so because we have failed to utilize the resources offered by proven scientific models that could be derived through the use of Econometrics. The study of econometrics should be given a focal point for the following reasons:

1. Econometrics puts down in simple is-was English  the total complex economic data of any economy using economic models which is a simplified outline designed to illustrate compound processes in such a way that even a lay man can be able to carry it out non fail.

2. Econometrics provides models which can be tested practically but one many not necessarily play it out in the real life economic situation but you are able to see an outcome experimentally if a particular model is used; and it is now left for you to either accept hat model, reject it or refine it knowing all the advantages or disadvantages of using each model.
History has a way of repeating itself! When you want to forecast what the economy of Nigeria will be like tomorrow, study what the economy of Nigeria was yesterday.

A cursory look or a careful study of what the economy of Nigeria was like say:

    30, years ago,

Will give you a clue if not an accurate prediction of what the economy of Nigeria will be like in 10years time.

Do you really think the way Nigeria has fared in the last 50 years is something worth beating our chest about?

Do you think with the level of mendaciousness of the 'political bigwig will take us anywhere?

If something monumental is not done presently or in the nearest future, am afraid the future of the economy of Nigeria questionable. Quite frankly, do you really consider our economy heading somewhere at all?

The Great Economy Of Great nations like:
America was built on self sacrifice and not on self indulgence.

China was build on extreme collective deprivation of personal luxury and not extravagance.
Japan was built on overwhelming patriotism and not nepotism.

Their actions cut across board-citizens and leadership; religious leaders and followers, young and old, rich and poor.

When you hear an American say I love America...; he meant it.

How many Nigerians can say they love Nigeria before a hundred Chinese, and be proud of her?

How many Nigerians could say, I'll die for Nigeria before a hundred Japanese, and mean it

Or say am ready to sacrifice all for Nigeria's sake before a hundred of the old Russians. And be ready to prove it.

The kind of leadership Nigeria needs in our Local, State and the Federal are leaders that are ready to give up all for the sake of Nigeria. Not the kind that thinks first of self- my constituency, my people, my supporters’, MY GOD FATHER...

We need leaders like Obafemi  Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Murtala Muhammed; of blessed memory.

I am confidence that such leaders are not an endangered species, they are around but the kind of politics we have is gradually making such quality of leadership endangered.

Why are past leadership afraid of being truly questioned about how they fared, sometimes the questions come in the guise of Panel of inquiry, Probe panel, Auditing,...

A great leader is not afraid of being asked to tell the story of how he conquered, triumphed or got victory; up-coming leaders need the experience of those that have gone before to excel. Only mediocre leaders are afraid of being questioned.

Nigeria shall be great but we need to plant the seed of greatness today, it is a collective responsibility.
