Atiku,Oshiomhole mourn Borno Deputy Governor

zanna mustaphaFormer Vice President and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar has said the sudden death of Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhahi Zanna Umar Mustapha, was not only a loss to his people and family, but also to the entire generation of Nigeria's young politicians.

In a condolence message released by his media office in Abuja on Sunday, 16 August the former Vice President expressed deep grief at the death of such a vibrant politician, whom he said, represented the hopes and aspirations of Nigeria's generation of new breed politicians.

According to Atiku, the fact that the late Zannah Mustapha was able to prove himself in office in a crisis-ridden state like Borno has reinforced his faith and confidence in the abilities of young Nigerian politicians.

The former Vice President explained that, if given the opportunities, Nigerian youth can prove themselves in every roles, adding that the deceased was a perfect and shining example of what young politicians could achieve if they were given the challenge.

While extending his sympathies to the government, the family and the people of Borno State, former Vice President Abubakar also prayed to Allah to grant external blessings to the soul of the deceased.

In a  similar vein,Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has described as shocking, the death of the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, saying the late Deputy Governor was a vibrant man who gave his all in service to his state and the nation.

In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Peter Okhiria, Comrade Oshiomhole said: "the death of the Alhaji Zanna Mustapha, the Deputy Governor of Borno State came to us as a rude shock as he was a vibrant man who was committed to rendering selfless service to his state and the nation

"I had met His Excellency, the Deputy Governor on a number of occasions and he exhibited deep knowledge of the problems facing the people of his state. He was a dependable ally of the Governor, and together, they had taken positive steps to ensure speedy development of the state in spite of the challenges.

"The late Deputy Governor made profound contributions at several fora where he represented the Governor and the state, and he gave the impression of a man who had a deep passion for his state and a great insight on how to move the state forward.

"To me, Alhaji Mustapha was a very dutiful functionary, who enjoyed the full confidence of the Governor and his humility and commitment to the reversal of the fortunes of the state had been most endearing.

"I offer my personal commiseration as well as the condolence of the good people and Government of Edo State over the sad loss.

"Our supplication is for Almighty Allah to, in His infinite mercy, receive his soul with His love and forgiveness and bless him with Aljannah Firdausi."
