The  All Progressives Congress,APC Governorship Aspirants for the Kogi State elections have been urged to abide by whatever is the outcome of the party's primary on 29th of August 2015.Speaking on Monday at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja, while issuing the certificate of screening to all the 28 aspirants, the National Organising Secretary of the party,Senator  Osita Izunaso told the aspirants that as was done during the presidential primaries of the party last year, an undertaking will be signed for the sake of committing the contestants towards working for the success of whoever emerges as the party's candidate at the primary election.

Izunaso  recalled that “in  December last year,we set up a committee headed by Ogbonaya Onu to screen our five (presidential) aspirants and the contestants were made to sign an undertaking and it was that undertaking  that saw us through . After the primaries all of them embraced the winner and agreed to work together, that was the first step that guaranteed us that victory during the general election in March 28.  The chairman of our party   who is the head of the NWC has approved that all the 28 aspirants signs an undertaking  for the party . This undertaking  is intended to put all our aspirant in check"

He earlier commended the head of the seven man screening committee, Barrister Boss Mustapha for a  job well done. Izunaso  said " I thank Barrister Boss Mustapha and members of his committee for a job well done . From the way  he read his report you can see that the committee went into detail in screening the aspirants of our great party in Kogi state. From the report so presented it is clear that they have recommended for the party that the 28 aspirants are qualified to contest the election . In the situation where we have 28 aspirants ,(it) is a good omen for our party. What it means is that people in Kogi state believed in our party. What it meant is that APC is Kogi state" he boasted.

The Organising secretary further pointed out that with outcome of the presidential election and the number of aspirants gunning for the position, there was no doubt the party will emerge victorious at the polls in  November.

He stated further that " all the 28 are qualified. With what we are seeing here it shows that the next governor of Kogi state is here with us because I know and we can feel it and is emphatic, realistic that during the last general election you proved your mettle  in Kogi state. In fact it will be out of the ordinary if we don't win the kogi state governorship election. Having won the three senate seats, 6 out 9 house representatives. Also having won 11 out of 25 state house of assembly and we are still counting because some of the cases are in still court and we won the presidential election with over 75% margin in Kogi state. We don't want chaos and violence during the primaries. Primary  is a  family affairs. We know our opponent ,the 28 of you are not our opponent but family members. But it  is only one of you that the delegate will decide who should fly  our party’s flag.  That is why we have the undertaking" .
