The All Progressives Congress on Monday inaugurated a seven man committee to screen its aspirants in the forthcoming Kogi state governorship election at the party’s secretariat Abuja . Presently. about 27 aspirants have shown interest for the governorship ticket of the party in the November 29th election in the State.
Speaking while inaugurating the committee, the party's Deputy National Chairman south , Mr Segun Oni said that " there was no doubt the party has the upper hand in the forthcoming elections, noting that the people have become tired of PDP misrule in the State ".
Oni also enjoined the 7 man committee to do an excellent and diligent work , as the process must be free, fair and transparent that " we know the people can’t change the screening exercise because the screening must be upright and act in most difference so that it will be free, fair and transparent" he added.
Speaking earlier is the National Organising Secretary, Osita Izunaso who had noted that " it was needful for the party in the State to do a proper job, so as to takeover power from the incumbent Governor, who appears to be the candidate of the PDP" .
Izunaso who read out a list of the members of the committee headed by Boss Mustapha, maintains that "amongst other conditions, for a candidate to go through the screening successfully, he or she must be a registered member of the party, and must be up to date with his dues", he cautioned.
