Are Nigeria Mobile Phone Users Satisfied With Telekom Service Providers?

If I say only a handful of Nigerians carry a cell phone, that would be an understatement because according to statistics there are over 100M mobile phones in Nigeria of a population of around 167M, the highest in Africa.
One question that readily comes to mind is why aren't Nigeria mobile phone users getting better service even after 1o years of entry of mobile phone service into Nigeria?

"The number you have dialed is not reachable at the monent, please try again later"; you remember that line or this one "You don't have sufficient credit to call this number, please load all in one card." Hehehe.

Some the the complains made by mobile phone users that NCC has failed to address could be because they lack required legislation-backing of the law or may be the leadership lack moral impetus to address this misnormal for obvious reasons. NCC should do their job and do it well

Was it not one of Nigeria foremost leader that said if you are a Governor govern well, if you are a teacher teach well, …and am bold to say ; if you are a network provider, provide better service.

Complains for subscribers.

1. What is customer service doing to help mobile phone users enjoy value for the money they spend daily to recharge their phone or internet or blackberry subscriptions. It seems as if the promotional offers and new service offers annoucement by telekom providers are being introduce too quickly for customer service to understand and pass this understanding to end users in a meaningful easy to comprehend ways.

2. Mobile phone users complained they were charged too much. You recharge your phone for a certain amout make a less than 1 minute call and zap your credit is wiped clean and you blame your wife.

3 You see, how many times have they promised you free credit, if recharge with certain amount only to discover after recharging that you are not eligible for that offer.
4. Now what does this phrase mean “ TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY”

Sometimes am force to conclude that this term means that no body is eligible for what ever they are yapping about
5. Theft or loss of mobile phone and the attempt to get back SIM card is met

with such stiff opposition that you begin to feel that those guys behind the network want to purnish you for not taking care not loss your SIM and nobody want to no the pains you bear lossing one of your priced possession-your phone, but when you get out to meet with some guys whom I want to call the Go-Go guys they quickly and seemlessly get the welcome back SIM with no effort at all if only you're willing to path a handsome amount.

6. What about paying for internet subscription and not being able to effectively use this service or when you subscribe for say 1G, or 2G and you get 600MB or 1400MB respectively.

This is not to say Nigerians aren't greatful to God for giving them mobile phone or that the network is bad; but Nigerians feel that the network are good and believe the services can be improved upon if both providers and regulatory authority do their job well.

I feel the consumers needs to be better protected and something worthwhile done about their complains.
